If you have committed a traffic violation, you will be given the opportunity to respond with a hearing.
If you have been informed by letter that you are alleged to have committed an administrative offense in road traffic, you will also be informed there that you can use the hearing.
This gives you the opportunity to comment on the accusation and, for example, to refute the information provided by the authority.
There is no obligation to use the hearing.

- The competent authority sends you a notification that you have allegedly committed an administrative offense in road traffic.
- In the letter, you will be informed that you can comment on the accusation.
- You can make your statements in writing on the hearing form or online.
- If you wish to make the statements in writing, fill in the fields on the hearing form and then send it by mail to the competent authority.
- If you wish to provide the information online, follow the link provided in the letter and enter the access code provided in the letter. Then fill in the required fields and press the "Submit" button.
- After checking your information, the authority will inform you whether the charge remains.

- in the case of a warning with a fine, the warning fine notice is usually also the hearing form
- if the offer of a shortened procedure is not accepted by payment of the warning fine and the time limit granted for this has expired, fine proceedings are initiated instead
- If the opportunity to be heard is not used in the fine proceedings or if the time limit is allowed to expire, a penalty notice is issued.
