Prostitutionstätigkeit: erstmalig anmelden

Anyone intending to engage in prostitution in Germany is obliged to register with the authorities.

The law regulating the prostitution trade and protecting persons working in prostitution stipulates that prostitutes must register in person in addition to receiving health advice. When registering, an information and counseling session is held. During this, prostitutes receive comprehensive information about their rights and obligations as well as support services. Registration must take place in person.

Proof of registration will be issued. At the request of the person obliged to register, this can also be issued as an alias certificate.

• if you do not have German citizenship and are not entitled to freedom of movement - proof of permission to pursue employment or self-employment in Germany
• current registration certificate of residence or main residence in Germany, alternatively proof of an address for service in Germany
• if the registration is not made together with the health consultation - certificate of the health consultation carried out (not older than three months)

Registration takes place in two steps. In the first step, a health consultation takes place in a confidential discussion. This is a prerequisite for personal registration. In the second step, the official registration takes place in conjunction with a personal information and consultation meeting.

The registration authority usually issues the registration certificate immediately after the information and consultation meeting, but no later than five working days, provided that all the necessary information and evidence has been provided and there are no other reasons for exclusion. At the request of the person obliged to register, the registration certificate can also be issued as an alias certificate.

On request, health advice and registration, including a personal consultation, can be carried out in a single appointment.
The consultation can be held in German and English. Interpreters are available for other languages.
