As an interpreter, you can apply for general swearing-in in M-V for judicial, official and notarial purposes.
Court interpreters can be generally sworn in for language translation for judicial, official and notarial purposes in the state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. Court interpreters are listed in the electronic register of interpreters and translators, which can be viewed by anyone.
Proof of personal suitability:
- proof that I am a national of a member state of the European Union or a state party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area or Switzerland. (e.g. a copy of a valid identity card or passport)
- proof that I have my place of business or residence in a member state of the European Union or another state party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area or Switzerland (only for applicants who do not belong to an EU state or an EEA state, current residence or registration certificate + residence permit in accordance with the Act on the Residence, Employment and Integration of Foreigners in the Federal Territory)
- Certificate from the foreigners authority confirming the existence of a residence permit and a work permit for self-employment
- a curriculum vitae in tabular form
- a negative certificate of insolvency proceedings
- a certificate of good conduct according to § 30 para. 5 of the Federal Central Register Act (document type "OB")
- The certificate must not have been issued more than 6 months ago
Proof of professional aptitude:
- Proof of basic knowledge of the German legal language (note: this may be waived if the basic knowledge of the German legal language is proven by a state examination pursuant to Section 3 (2) sentence 1 GDolmG)
- Proof of an interpreter examination from a state or state-recognized examination office in Germany or proof of another state or state-recognized examination for the interpreting profession in Germany
