Aufnahme als europäischer Rechtsanwalt in die Rechtsanwaltskammer beantragen

Upon application, European lawyers are admitted to the bar association responsible for their place of establishment and are then entitled to practice law in Germany under the professional title of their country of origin in accordance with Section 1 (3) of the Federal Lawyers' Act (Bundesrechtsanwaltsordnung).

• Application for admission to the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Bar Association
• Curriculum vitae with photograph
• Identity card or passport (copy)
• Proof of citizenship of a member state of the European Union or another state party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area or Switzerland
• Certificate from the competent authority in the country of origin confirming that the European lawyer is a member of the profession (preferably not older than three months)
• Proof of professional liability insurance, either through an insurance policy taken out in Germany or an equivalent insurance policy in the country of origin
• If applicable, officially or publicly certified copy of the doctoral degree certificate or other evidence of the acquisition of academic degrees

Admission to the Bar requires the applicant to be registered as a European lawyer with the competent authority of the home state.

The established European lawyer shall use the professional title that he or she is entitled to use in the home Member State. Any person who is entitled to use the professional title "Rechtsanwalt" or "Rechtsanwalt" shall also indicate the professional organization to which he or she belongs in the home state.

The established European lawyer is entitled to use the designation "member of the Bar Association" in professional dealings. The term "European lawyer" may not be used as a professional title or in advertising.
