Insured women are entitled to midwifery care during pregnancy, during and after childbirth, in addition to their entitlement to medical care. Midwives support, advise and help during pregnancy, birth preparation, during the birth itself and in the first period afterwards.
You can contact the midwife of your choice directly. If you are a member of a statutory health insurance fund, you must present your health insurance card. The midwife will bill your health insurance company.
If you are a member of a private health insurance company, you should clarify the coverage of costs with your insurance company beforehand.
