If you wish to operate a hatchery or a breeding or multiplication farm, you must register with the competent authority.
Hatcheries with a capacity of 1,000 hatching eggs or more or breeding and multiplication farms with 100 animals or more are required to register.
- Animal husbandry registered with the competent veterinary and food monitoring office
The issue of an identification number for a hatchery or a breeding or multiplication farm is subject to a fee in accordance with No. 5.5.2 of the Annex to Section 1 (1) of the Thuringian Administrative Cost Regulations for the Ministry of Infrastructure and Agriculture (ThürVwKostOMIL).
A fee of €291 is charged per farm.

If a complete application with all the necessary documents is submitted, the processing time is approx. 2 to 3 weeks.
- Hatcheries with a capacity of 1,000 hatching eggs or more or breeding and multiplication farms with 100 animals or more are required to register.
- Prerequisite: Animal husbandry registered with the competent veterinary and food inspection office.
- Costs are incurred.
