You must apply for the extension of your driver's license for passenger transportation at the competent office.

The driving license for passenger transport (FzF) is issued for a maximum of five years and can be extended for up to five years upon application by the holder.

If the application is made after the expiry of the FzF, renewal is no longer possible. The issuance of a new FzF must be applied for.

• Photo ID (identity card or passport (if passport is presented: attach a current registration certificate from the registration office responsible for the main place of residence))
• EU/EEA driving license
• Certificate of good conduct for submission to an authority
• Current information from the driver suitability register
• Proof of physical and mental aptitude in accordance with the model in Annex 5 to the Driving License Ordinance. The proof must not be older than one year at the time of application.
• In the case of renewal beyond the age of 60: proof of ability to cope with stress, orientation, concentration, attention and reaction in accordance with No. 2 of Annex 5 to the Driving Licence Ordinance. The proof must not be older than one year at the time of application.
• Proof of compliance with the requirements for eyesight in accordance with No. 2 of Annex 6 to the Driving License Ordinance. An issued expert opinion/certificate is valid for 2 years.

• from the age of 60, additional proof of ability to cope with stress, orientation, concentration, attention and reactions

The fee is based on the Fee Regulations for Road Traffic Measures (GebOSt).

• Driver's license for passenger transport (FzF) is issued for a maximum of five years
• This can be extended for up to five years at the holder's request.
• Fees are charged.
• Responsible: the competent driving license authority of the main place of residence.
