If you want to transport passengers with streetcars and trolleybuses, you need the permission of the competent authority

For the transportation of passengers by streetcars and trolleybuses, you must have a permit.

Documents proving the licensing requirements pursuant to Section 13(1) of the Passenger Transportation Act.

Application documents pursuant to Section 12 of the Passenger Transportation Act in all cases such as:

Names and place of residence and operation of the applicant, in addition, in the case of natural persons, date and place of birth,

information on whether the applicant already holds or has held a permit for a type of transport,

a description of the measures to be taken to achieve the goal of complete accessibility of the transport applied for in accordance with the statements in the local transport plan (§ 8 (3) sentence 3),

the beginning and end of the period of validity applied for,

if applicable, proof of a public service contract within the meaning of Article 3 (1) of Regulation (EC) No. 1370/2007

and, in particular, in the case of a streetcar or trolleybus service

a general map showing the requested route with stops and all existing railroads, trolleybus lines, motor vehicle lines and shipping lines in the transport area, the latter as far as they serve commuter traffic,

transport charges and timetable,

at the request of the licensing authority, a construction plan with a cost estimate and a description of the installation, details of the highest and lowest position of the contact wire, longitudinal and cross sections and plans for any necessary changes to public roads, a description of the vehicles, including the circuit diagrams and the mode of operation.

Special provisions under Section III of the Passenger Transportation Act (§ 28 ff. PBefG) apply to streetcar services.

Technical supervision is the responsibility of the Thuringian Ministry of Infrastructure and Agriculture (TMIL).
