Fahrerlaubnis - Erweiterung der Fahrerlaubnis um Klasse B beantragen

If you already have a driver's license, you can upgrade it to a Class B driver's license.

With driving license class B, you can drive motor vehicles (motor vehicles) with a maximum permissible total mass of 3,500 kg. The motor vehicle must also be designed for no more than eight people (in addition to the person driving).

You can transport trailers with a total permissible mass of no more than 750 kg with driving license class B. If the maximum permissible mass of the vehicle combination does not exceed 3,500 kg, the maximum permissible mass of the trailer may also exceed 750 kg.

Driving license class B is issued for an unlimited period of time.

Information about the driving school

• You must be in possession of a driving license class.
• You must have your main residence in the Federal Republic of Germany.
• The minimum age is 18 years. You can apply for the extension of the driving license at the earliest 6 months before reaching the minimum age.

The fee is based on the applicable schedule of fees for road traffic measures (GebOSt ).

If the driver's license is sent directly to the home address, an additional shipping fee will be charged.

The theoretical test must be passed within 12 months of receipt of the test order by the Technical Inspection Agency (DEKRA).

The practical test must be taken within 12 months of passing the theoretical test.

Otherwise, the theoretical test loses its validity.

If a driver's license in classes AM, L or T is extended to another class for the first time, a probationary period is set for the new class.
