If you are affected by traffic noise caused by a federal highway or state road, as the owner - not the tenant - you can submit an informal application to the road authorities for reimbursement of expenses for noise protection measures for your house or condominium.

• Informal application stating the place of residence, street and house number
• Power of attorney of the authorized representative in the case of a homeowners' association

• You are the owner of the residential building or condominium and have not yet started implementing the noise protection measures.
• Your house or condominium is located on a federal highway or state road.
• The action values, limit values according to the guideline for traffic noise on federal highways under the responsibility of the federal government, have been exceeded.
• If budget funds have been made available in the federal/state budget and have not yet been exhausted.

• Application by the owner
• Determination of eligibility on the merits by the Thuringian State Office for Building and Transport (TLBV)
• On-site visit to determine the cost of remediation (if necessary, determination that the trigger values have not been exceeded)
• Request for tenders (3 tenders if possible) in accordance with the site visit
• Preparation of an agreement with determination of the reimbursement costs
• Contract award and installation work (e.g. windows, fans, insulation) are to be arranged and monitored by the owner
• Acceptance of the service provision by the road construction authority
• Payment of the reimbursement in accordance with the agreement, after submission of the invoice by the owner
