If you are moving house or making or expecting deliveries, you can apply for a temporary no-stopping zone.

You can submit the application in writing by means of an informal application.

• The application will be reviewed by the competent authority.
• If the result is positive, you will receive a permit and a road traffic order from the competent authority to erect the required traffic signs.

Processing usually takes place immediately or promptly.

Note: The permit is only valid for the period specified on the order.

The required traffic signs must be erected at least three days before the no stopping zone is used. The traffic signs may only be erected after the permit has been received.

Only traffic signs in accordance with the German Road Traffic Regulations (StVO) may be erected.

The signs can also be erected by an installation service.

You must record the installation in an installation log. You should note the time and exact location of the installation.

In the event of damage, the persons submitting the application may be liable.

Third-party vehicles in the established no-parking zone can be removed.

Additional measures must be specified in the application; additional permits may be required for this (e.g. a special use application for containers).

You will need a separate order for the move-in and move-out locations.

It is not advisable to block off a parking space with lines, tapes, cardboard boxes or chairs. Other people looking for a parking space can and may move these obstacles aside and park. The police also intervene when they see such barriers. A warning or fine is then often imposed.

After the move or the delivery and removal, make the signs ineffective. If necessary, return the signs to the borrowed location.
