The license may be waived by written declaration to the competent authority. A waiver that is declared subject to a condition is invalid.

The original license to practice medicine will be kept at the State Office for Social Affairs, Youth and Care and will not be returned to you.

If you have declared your waiver of license in writing, the competent authority will process it promptly. The processing time varies between the competent licensing authorities of the federal states.

The processing time is usually up to two working weeks.

You do not have to observe any statutory deadlines.
