As a person qualified to carry out inspections, you carry out tests on explosion-proof equipment after it has been repaired. If you want to work as a qualified person, you need official recognition.

Information about the applicant

• Address of the permanent establishment or the operating department in which the person qualified to carry out the examination recognised by the authority is to work

• Proof of the need for testing and indication of the equipment to be tested, the protective systems, safety, control and regulating devices to be tested after repair
• Declaration by the applicant on the freedom of instruction of the person qualified to carry out the examination

• Copy of the employment contract between the applicant and the person qualified to carry out the examination
• Curriculum vitae of the applicant stating the applicant's professional career and professional practice up to the time of application as well as copies of certificates of previous employment relationships
• Copies of the skilled worker's certificate, the master craftsman's certificate and certificate, the diploma certificate and the diploma certificate or comparable proof of qualification
• Copies of certificates of participation in training measures or relevant exchanges of experience
• Police clearance certificate, document type 0
• Declaration of the person qualified to carry out the examination on the freedom to issue instructions

• Written confirmation from the insurer of an existing liability insurance in the amount of 2.5 million euros for the activity of the recognised person qualified to carry out the examination in accordance with the declaration of exemption

Declaration of indemnification:

• Declaration of indemnification vis-à-vis the State of Rhineland-Palatinate

• Completed technical vocational training or proof of another technical qualification of the person to be recognized, which qualifies for the intended test task
• Practical experience of the person to be recognized with comparable work equipment over a reasonable period of time, so that the assigned test task is carried out reliably
• Activity of the person to be recognized in the context of the upcoming inspection of the work equipment to be tested as well as appropriate further training
• Expert opinion on the qualifications of the person to be recognized as well as on the equipment and quality assurance of the company
• Proof of the regular need for such tests

Fees and expenses apply.

• The application for recognition of the person qualified for examination in the field of explosion protection must be submitted in writing, informally.
• Insofar as the conditions for recognition are met, this may be subject to conditions.
• The notification of recognition shall be issued in writing.

In Rhineland-Palatinate, a workbook can be submitted to the competent authority (SGD Nord. SGD Süd, Central Department of Trade Supervision), which contains forms for the application and describes the additional information required.

As part of the recognition procedure, an on-site inspection is carried out to check the maintenance and testing procedures.

Note on the expert opinion of an expert:

As the applicant, you commission an expert to provide an expert opinion after the scope of the review has been determined by the recognition authority. This statement refers to the technical and organizational requirements of the company and the examination of the personal suitability of the applicant and his skills and knowledge of the relevant legal norms for the corresponding test work. If you, as the applicant, have been accredited as a testing laboratory or inspection body in accordance with standards of the DIN EN ISO/IEC 17000 series, the scope of the expert opinion and, if applicable, the trial examination will be adapted accordingly.

Contradiction:

• You may appeal against the decision within one month of notification.
• You must submit the objection to the competent authority in writing or for a record.
