Vorqualifikation für Aufstiegs-BAföG bescheinigen

In order for your advanced vocational training to be funded by the Upgrading BAföG, you must provide proof of your previous qualification.

One document that you must submit for funding is the so-called "Form Z". On this form, you must confirm that you meet the professional admission requirements for the examination or can meet them by the time of the examination. The body responsible for this is the one that also conducts the final examination for the qualification you are aiming for. you are aiming for. Depending on the qualification, this may be the Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK) or the Chamber of Crafts (HWK).

Typically, you qualify either by completing your first vocational training course and/or gaining professional experience. You can also provide evidence of the required prior qualification if you have dropped out of university, have professional experience or have a Bachelor's degree. The exact requirements are set out in the examination regulations for the respective further education qualification.

With the confirmation of your pre-qualification, you can then apply for the so-called "Meister-BAföG". Depending on the federal state, BAföG offices or other authorities are responsible for this.

Proof of fulfillment of the admission requirements:

• Educational qualification
• Possibly other evidence, e.g. certificates of employment and references

Fulfillment of the requirements for admission to the desired advanced training examination:

• Training in a recognized training occupation or a comparable professional qualification
• Bachelor's graduates, university dropouts and high school graduates with professional experience may also be qualified

As a rule, there are no costs for completing Form Z.

Confirmation of pre-qualification is one of the requirements that you must prove in order to receive funding.

• You apply for confirmation of pre-qualification from the office responsible for your degree before you apply for the training grant.
• You submit form Z of the complete application together with the proof of your pre-qualification.
• The office responsible will check your pre-qualification.
• You will receive the completed Annex Z by post.

Once your pre-qualification has been confirmed, you can apply for the actual funding.
