If you want to run a farm whose activity is the laying of hatching eggs in incubators, the incubation of these eggs and the delivery of chicks, you must register with the competent authority upon application.
The following establishments must be registered:
- Hatcheries with a capacity of 1,000 or more hatching eggs
- Breeding and propagation holdings with 100 or more animals
Status July 2021: There is currently no registration procedure for hatcheries in Rhineland-Palatinate.
