If you do not want to/cannot enrol for a course of study, but generally want to participate in courses without a formal degree, you can apply for a guest auditorship at the respective university.

The prerequisites for guest auditorship are specified in the enrolment regulations of the universities. Please note the university-specific regulations.

Admission takes place by notification (guest auditor's certificate) and must be applied for anew for each semester.

The guest auditorship is subject to a fee (special fee schedule of the course) and includes the fee for a guest auditor certificate as well as a semester fee, which may vary depending on the number of courses taken.

The university provides information on the procedure:

1. Fill out the application form digitally or print it out
2. Submission of the application to the university
3. Receipt of fee notice
4. Sending of the guest auditor certificate after receipt of payment
5. If applicable, approval for participation in a course by the lecturers and the Dean's Office required (except lectures)

The application deadlines vary between the universities and can be requested from the individual university.

No examinations or ECTS credits can be acquired within the framework of a guest auditorship.
