The electoral roll must be corrected ex officio if it is manifestly incorrect or incomplete. In addition, a correction is made if an appeal against the electoral roll is admissible and justified.
If the electoral roll is manifestly incorrect or incomplete, the municipal administration must remedy the deficiency ex officio. This does not apply to deficiencies which are the subject of a procedure for checking the electoral roll.
Anyone who considers the electoral roll to be incorrect or incomplete may, within the inspection period, raise objections in writing or for transcription to the municipal administration.
The municipal administration should decide no later than 10 days before the election.
Objections to the voters' register may be raised within the inspection period from the 20th to the 16th day before the election.
After completion of the voters' register, which takes place on the second day before the election, 6 p.m., supplements and deletions can only be made in exceptional cases.
The decision of the municipal administration may be appealed to the supervisory authority. The supervisory authority shall decide on the objection in good time so that the polling card can still be issued in the event of a decision favourable to the objector.
In principle, the electoral roll can only be corrected after the start of the inspection period on the basis of a successful appeal.
