Would you like to increase the number of buses or seats for your bus company? Then you must apply for the necessary permit from the licensing authority responsible for you.

You require a permit for the commercial transportation of passengers by bus or coach in occasional services.

Occasional services include

• Excursions
• Vacation trips
• Trips with rental buses

If you wish to increase the number of vehicles or seats for your bus and coach company, you must apply for an extension of the permit from your competent licensing authority.

• Valid permit
• Application for extension of the bus permit with details of:
  • Surname and first name of the applicant
  • Place of residence and place of business
  • for natural persons: Date of birth, place of birth
  • Number of vehicles, vehicle type, capacity of the vehicles to be used
• Equity certificate, additional certificate if applicable, not older than 3 months
• Certificate in tax matters from the tax office, the municipality, the social insurance institution and the employers' liability insurance association, not older than 3 months:
  • from the company
  • the legal representative
  • the person or transport management appointed to manage the business
• Certificate of good conduct for submission to the authorities
• Extract from the central trade register for companies
• Extract from the driving aptitude register (FAER)
• Vehicle list
• Proof of liability insurance for buses and coaches including risk identification number (WKZ)
• Business registration

• You are already in possession of a bus and coach license.
• You can guarantee the financial capacity of the company.
• You or the person appointed to manage the business are reliable.
• You or the person appointed to manage the business are professionally qualified.
• You and the entrepreneurs commissioned by you to provide transportation services have their registered office or branch in Germany.

The amount of the fees depends on

• the number of vehicles and
• the duration of the permit.

There are no indications or special features.

• Appeal: You will find further information on how to lodge an appeal in the notification of your application.
• Appeal to the administrative court if the appeal is unsuccessful.
