Familienerholung und Familienfreizeiten – Förderung

Vacations and recreation are a basic need that is particularly relevant for parents and children.

The state of Rhineland-Palatinate supports multi-child families and single parents with low incomes in particular by providing individual grants to finance joint vacations in family holiday resorts run by non-profit organizations or in youth hostels suitable for families as well as on winegrowers' and farms in Rhineland-Palatinate. The subsidy is income-dependent, i.e. the family income must not exceed an income limit depending on the size of the family. The prerequisite is that the families have a main residence in Rhineland-Palatinate and have at least one child entitled to child benefit. Vacation stays of at least 5 and a maximum of 21 days are eligible.

The general subsidy amounts to

• 25.00 € per day and child
• 30.00 € for a child with a significant disability
• Parents with a particularly low income also receive a subsidy for themselves of €10.00 per day per parent.

As part of the federal program "Corona time-out for families", families with lower incomes and families with relatives with a disability can take discounted family vacations in non-profit family recreation facilities from October 2021 to December 2022. The discounted vacation can be booked directly through the participating family recreation facilities. Federal and state funding cannot be combined for the same booking period.
