Your road traffic authority is responsible for traffic signs and equipment. Defective or improperly installed traffic signs or traffic lights can become a danger on the road. The road traffic authority relies on faults being reported promptly.

Describe the damage and give an exact location. Ideally, you should document the damage with a photo. You must make sure that you own the rights to the photo and that no persons or license plates are recognizable.

The road construction authority is obliged to procure, install, maintain and remove traffic signs and traffic facilities and to operate them, including their lighting, otherwise the owner of the road is obliged to do so. In this respect, reports of defective or damaged traffic signs or traffic lights must be submitted to the relevant road construction authority. Reports to the road traffic authority are forwarded from there to the road construction authority.
