The state of Rhineland-Palatinate offers households a range of assistance programs for owner-occupied housing as part of its social housing assistance program. The state supports households that are unable to find adequate housing on the market and are dependent on assistance. In particular, the funding supports families and other households with children as well as disabled people who, taking into account their income, cannot bear the burden of building or purchasing housing without social housing assistance.

The state of Rhineland-Palatinate provides funding together with the Investitions- und Strukturbank Rheinland-Pfalz (ISB) in the form of low-interest ISB loans (basic loans and additional loans) and repayment grants.
The state guarantees up to 80% of the ISB loans.

If the income limits, which are graduated according to household size, are adhered to, a subsidy can be granted in the form of an interest-reduced loan.

A one-off processing fee of 1% of the requested loan amount, minimum EUR 250, is payable for processing the funding application.

The entitlement to the processing fee arises when the loan application is processed. The fee is usually retained when the first loan installment is paid out.

The application for funding must be submitted before the start of the construction work.
In the case of acquisition measures, the purchase contract may not have been concluded more than two months previously.
