Genehmigung für die Anwendung eines zugelassenen Pflanzenschutzmittels in einem anderen Anwendungsgebiet: Erteilung - im Einzelfall

Plant protection products may only be used if they are authorised. The competent body may, on request and on a case-by-case basis, authorise the use of an authorised plant protection product in areas other than those specified by the authorisation if:

1. the application is envisaged
   • crops which are grown only on a small scale, or
   • against harmful organisms which cause significant damage only in certain areas, and
2. the intended use corresponds to that in a field of application specified by the authorisation.  

The authorisation shall be subject to the necessary conditions to protect public and animal health and to protect against other harmful effects, in particular on the ecosystem.

No documents are required.

• the application is intended
  • crops which are grown only on a small scale, or
  • against harmful organisms which cause significant damage only in certain areas, and
• the intended use corresponds to that in an indication specified by the authorisation.

Fees are charged in accordance with the scale of fees of the competent authority.

It should also be noted that an authorisation for the use of a plant protection product on plants and plant products from which foodstuffs can be obtained may only be granted if the expected residues are covered by a maximum level in the Residue Maximum Levels Regulation and the food obtained contributes only to a small extent to the daily average consumption.

Before granting the authorisation, the competent authority shall obtain an opinion from the Federal Office of Consumer Protection and Food Safety.

On request, the use of an authorised plant protection product in areas other than those specified by the authorisation may be authorised on a case-by-case basis.

The responsibility lies with the Chamber of Agriculture of Lower Saxony - Plant Protection Office.

This procedure can also be carried out through a "Point of Single Contact". The "Point of Single Contact" is a special service offered by municipalities and the state for service providers.
