The state of Lower Saxony grants funding to companies in the sea fishing industry to promote economically, socially and ecologically sustainable, competitive and knowledge-based sea fishing.

The state of Lower Saxony provides funding to companies in the sea fishing industry from the European Maritime, Fisheries and Aquaculture Fund (EMFAF) and from the state of Lower Saxony to promote economically, socially and ecologically sustainable, competitive and knowledge-based sea fishing.

Funding is only granted for projects that are in line with the German program for the EMFAF 2021-2027.

You will receive funding for, among other things

• Investments on board to improve hygiene, health, safety and working conditions
• Investments to improve the energy efficiency of fishing vessels
• Support for the first purchase of a fishing vessel that has already been registered in the fleet register for at least 3 years for young fishermen (<40)
• Investments in the processing of fishery products on board fishing vessels.

• Balance sheets and profit and loss account for the last 3 years
• Detailed financing cost plan
• Offers to check the plausibility of the costs

• the applicant must be based in Lower Saxony and belong to a recognized producer organization.
• The fishing vessel must be registered in a port in Lower Saxony
• Grant recipients must meet the characteristics of an SME (small and medium-sized enterprise) within the meaning of Recommendation 2003/361/EC
• the threshold values for eligible expenditure in accordance with No. 5.5 of the funding guidelines must be met

There are no costs.

• You apply for funding for sea fishing by submitting all relevant documents to the SFA
• The granting authority decides whether to approve your application and issues a grant notification
• Proof of use must be submitted after or during the implementation of the project.
• The proof of use is checked and the grant to be awarded is then determined by means of a notification.
• You now apply for payment of the grant.

The processing time varies depending on the scope and type of funding.

Deadlines for the applicant only arise from the grant notification.
