If you start or end the operation of a shooting range, you must report this.

The commencement and termination of the operation of the shooting range must be reported to the competent authority in writing or electronically.

Failure to do so constitutes an administrative offense under Section 53 (1) (8) of the Weapons Act.

You will need the following documents to process the application:

1. An identification document,

A permit to operate a shooting range in accordance with § 27 of the Weapons Act (WaffG).

Permission to operate a portable shooting range was granted before the first installation.

The trade authorities in Lower Saxony charge corresponding fees in accordance with the Ordinance on Fees and Expenses for Official Acts and Services (General Fee Schedule - AllGO). As a rule, no fees are charged for notifications.

For weapons law, the amount of the fee is based on the respective tariff number 109 of the Annex to Section 1 (1) AllGO.

The permit holder must notify the weapons authority responsible for the location of the shooting range.

The notification must be made in writing or electronically two weeks prior to the commencement or termination of operations.

Open shooting ranges are facilities that require a permit under the Federal Immission Control Act.
