You can have the online ID function of your ID card activated at your local ID card authority at any time.
When you collect your ID card with the online ID function, you can declare in writing to the ID card authority that you wish to use the electronic proof of identity function.
The ID card authority will then activate the electronic proof of identity function.
You can change your decision at any time during the period of validity of the ID card by submitting a written declaration to the ID card authority.
