If you carry out work with asbestos-containing materials in the medium risk area, you must submit a supplementary notification to the competent authority in addition to the company-related notification, stating the place and time of the work to be carried out.

If you carry out work with asbestos-containing materials in the medium-risk area, you must report the place and time of the work to be carried out and send a copy to the accident insurance company. There is only an obligation to notify companies.

In certain cases, a supplementary notification may also be required for activities involving certain recognized low-emission processes, if specified in the technical regulations.

Demolition, renovation and maintenance work on materials containing asbestos may only be carried out by specialist companies. At least one competent person authorized to issue instructions must be present on site during the work. Certificates of competence are valid for a period of 6 years.

Compulsory occupational health care in accordance with the Ordinance on Occupational Health Care must have been carried out for all employees working with materials containing asbestos before work begins.

There are no fees for the administrative service.

You have submitted the company-related notification to the responsible occupational health and safety authority at least seven days before the start of the activity.

In the case of medium-risk work, a supplementary notification of time and place is required in addition to the company-related notification. This notification must be sent to the health and safety authority responsible for the location of the object (e.g. construction site) and a copy sent to the accident insurance company.

Property-related or company-related activities involving materials containing asbestos must be notified at least seven days before the start of the work.

In addition to the company-related notification, no deadline must be observed for the notification of place and time. This notification can be made shortly before the start of the activity.

A copy of the notification must be sent to the responsible statutory accident insurance institution (e.g. BG BAU).
