Worldwide, there are around 30 different sexually transmitted infections (STIs) that are easily infected during sexual intercourse.
One of them is HIV. The abbreviation HIV stands for Human Immunodeficiency Virus, which means human immunodeficiency virus. The HI virus damages the body's own defenses, which are supposed to protect against other pathogens. If an infection with HIV is not treated, the body can no longer defend itself against other pathogens at some point and becomes seriously ill with normally harmless diseases. This condition is called AIDS.

Information and advice on AIDS and sexually transmitted infections can be obtained from the relevant authorities. The consultation is confidential, anonymous and free of charge and can be given in person or by telephone.
