Doctors of the public health service examine the children before starting school for health impairments that are likely to influence their ability to attend school.

The primary goal of this school entrance examination (SEU) is to be able to initiate treatments or support measures in good time before the start of school.

The doctors do not decide whether a child is enrolled in school or deferred from attending school.

Children are obliged to participate in the school entrance examination.

School medical teams carry out the school entrance examination close to home in the primary schools. The invitation is sent via the school.
