If you as a family simply cannot afford your well-deserved holiday financially, the country will help you. Lower Saxony promotes recreational holidays from:

• Families with at least two children
• Families with a disabled child
• Single-parent families with at least one child

The support depends on the family income.

The subsidy amounts to up to 10.00 euros per night for each life partner and 15.00 euros for each child.

In addition to the general subsidy rates, up to 10.00 euros are granted for disabled family members and up to 5.00 euros for single parents.

In justified cases, the involvement of grandparents in the support is also possible.

• The following are eligible:
  • recreational stays of at least 7 to a maximum of 14 consecutive nights,
  • Offers from institutions of the competent authority in Lower Saxony, in family holiday centres of non-profit organisations, in youth hostels set up for family holidays, in family-friendly facilities selected by the sponsor as well as on suitable farms and campsites

There are no fees.

The responsibility lies with the family associations and the associations of independent welfare care. It checks whether funds are still available and, if so, how much the grant is. It is advisable to contact the family holiday providers as early as possible.
