If, in individual cases, a business activity conflicts with the requirements or prohibitions of the German Road Traffic Regulations (StVO), a special permit can be applied for.
If, in individual cases, a business activity conflicts with the requirements or prohibitions of the German Road Traffic Regulations (StVO), a special permit can be applied for. This applies, for example, to exceptions
- from the regulations on road use,
- from the ban on entering a highway or a motorway or using it with vehicles not registered there,
- from the regulations on stopping and parking,
- from the regulations on vehicle and load dimensions,
- regulations on the wearing of seat belts and safety helmets,
- the ban on driving on Sundays and public holidays,
- the ban on placing obstacles on the road,
- the prohibition on operating loudspeakers and offering goods or services on the road,
- the ban on advertising and propaganda in connection with traffic signs,
- prohibitions or restrictions imposed by regulatory signs or directional signs, and
- the ban on parking vehicles over 7.5 tons and trailers over 2 tons in residential areas at night or on Sundays and public holidays.

According to the German Road Traffic Fee Regulations (GebOSt), the fee framework applies to each exceptional circumstance and vehicle/person.

As a rule, applications are not subject to a deadline, but should be submitted as early as possible.
Special regulations apply to oversized and heavy goods transports.
Exemptions are only granted in cases of urgent need, taking due account of the safety and order of traffic in particular.
