§ Section 45 (6)

I would like to have a no-stopping zone set up - where can I go?

For a move, you can obtain a stopping ban in front of the house in order to make transportation as smooth as possible for everyone involved. This requires the approval of the road traffic authorities and their instructions on how to implement the stopping ban with traffic signs.

The application should contain the following information:

• Name and address of the applicant
• Reason for the stopping ban
• Location of the area to be blocked
• Duration of the closure
• General plan or sketch

A permit can be applied for if the loading and unloading of the removal transport cannot be carried out without disruption to road traffic. This is the case, for example, if

• the removal transport will take place in an area where stopping or parking is prohibited or
• the removal transport will be located in a pedestrian zone.

A permit must be applied for if

• the footpath is fully or partially impaired or blocked, for example by a furniture lift.

The fees (including special use fees) are based on the extent of the restriction or the degree to which the road or sidewalk is used.

Note: Additional costs may be incurred for the use of the traffic signs required for the temporary stopping ban.

Apply for the permit from the relevant road traffic authority. If you have been granted permission, you must post the no stopping zone for the duration of the move at least three to four days before the start of the move with the traffic signs prescribed by the road traffic authority for other road users.

Note: Ask your local authority or city council whether you can borrow the traffic signs from them.
