Do you want to work as a veterinarian in the state of Brandenburg and would like to continue the further training title you acquired abroad for a specialization? You can apply for recognition of the continuing education title at the Brandenburg State Chamber of Veterinarians.

In addition to their professional title, veterinarians may use other titles that indicate special knowledge in a particular professional field (specialist veterinarian title) or additional knowledge acquired in another area (additional title). Only those who have received recognition from the State Chamber of Veterinarians upon application may use a continuing education title.

• Proof of nationality
• Your license to practice medicine or your permit according to § 2 paragraph 2 of the Federal Veterinary Code
• the continuing education certificates you have acquired
• the certificate, if any, of the relevant professional experience you have acquired
• Proof of the content of the continuing education in the form of the submission of the relevant continuing education regulations or in another appropriate manner, if this shows the content of the continuing education and the duration of the continuing education in order to obtain the continuing education certificate
• where applicable, other qualifications required to establish equivalence

• Successfully completed further training
• Licence to practise as a veterinarian or a permit to temporarily practise the veterinary profession

Fee for the granting of recognition: currently EUR 100.00

You must apply for recognition for the use of the continuing education title in writing (informally):

• Prepare the application and attach the necessary supporting documents.
• Submit the application documents to the Brandenburg State Chamber of Veterinarians. It is possible to send the application by e-mail.
• The Brandenburg State Chamber of Veterinarians will then check whether you meet all the requirements.
• The Brandenburg State Chamber of Veterinarians will send you a notice authorising you to use the title of continuing education.
