Through the GRW, the state and federal governments are to jointly develop a regional policy that explicitly benefits structurally weak regions and thus contributes to the creation of equal living conditions in the Federal Republic.
The aim of the program is to strengthen the competitiveness and adaptability of Brandenburg's economy. The program creates and secures jobs in the state of Brandenburg. Funding is provided for investment projects by small, medium-sized and large companies and, as part of infrastructure funding, municipalities whose aim is to create a functioning, business-related infrastructure, primarily in the regional growth cores. It is also possible to promote tourism infrastructure, primarily in health resorts and recreational areas.
Non-investment activities can also be supported. These include, on the one hand, the promotion of projects that cooperation networks in organized companies and research institutions.
On the other hand, the establishment of information networks and innovation clusters between companies (especially SMEs), universities and research institutions to promote technology transfer in the form of, for example, the integration of external knowledge into the innovation process of companies can be subsidized by the GRW.

Eligible to apply:
GRW-commercial: Companies in the commercial sector with a registered office in the state of Brandenburg (entry in the commercial register) with the aim of creating or maintaining jobs;
GRW infrastructure: municipalities and/or municipal special-purpose associations; non-profit organizations (for educational institutions), associations of companies and other partners (for GRW networks, GRW innovation clusters);
Minimum project volume € 50,000.00 (except for planning and consulting services and regional development concepts)
In the case of commercial funding for companies, the application must be submitted to the ILB. The application documents are available on the ILB website.
In the case of funding for business-related infrastructure, the application must be submitted via the ILB's online customer portal.
In the case of funding for GRW networks and innovation clusters, the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labor and Energy of the State of BrandenburgDepartment 24: MWAE Coordination, and then the Brandenburg Economic Development Corporation (WFBB). A professionally supported project outline is then drawn up in collaboration with the consultants. This is then presented to the MWAE. You can then complete the application forms published on the ILB website and submit them to the ILB together with the project description.
There are no calendar deadlines for submitting applications; however, the project may not be started before the application has been submitted.
The following applies to commercial funding: The project must be started within six months of the approval notice taking effect. The investment period is a maximum of 36 months. The subsidized business premises must be operated for at least 5 years after the end of the investment period.
A decision in the current financial year can only be expected if the complete documentation has been submitted to the ILB by September 30.
In the case of business-related infrastructure funding, the measure must also be started within six months of receipt of the approval notice. The investment period is a maximum of 36 months. A decision in the current financial year can only be expected if the documents have been submitted to the ILB in full by June 30.
The project sponsors and, if applicable, the operators are obliged to fulfill the requirements specified in the coordination framework and the GRW infrastructure guidelines for 15 years.
