Change of school, whereabouts, beginners, participants: responsible and desired school and school authorities, credible and comprehensible reasons according to BbgSchulG (§106) and GV (§4), state education office

Primary school pupils attend the responsible primary school. The responsible school is determined by the school district in which the parents/guardians live.

In the congruent school district, you can choose between the schools in the school district.

If there are important reasons, the attendance of a school other than the responsible one may exceptionally be permitted.

As a rule, children must attend primary school in whose school district their parents

• Housing or
• are habitually staying.

In exceptional cases, students can change school districts and attend another elementary school.

You can attach documents proving the important reason. The competent body may request further documents.

There must be important reasons in the person of the child or legal guardian. The well-being of the child is in the foreground.

An important reason exists above all if you apply for a change, because

• the responsible school can only be reached with difficulty,
• there are pedagogical reasons for this,
• social reasons.

1. Register the student with the responsible school.
2. Have the application form handed over to you at the responsible school or download it from the form box of the state education authorities and print it out.
3. Fill in the form and attach supporting documents.
4. Submit the complete application to the local school.
5. After processing, you will receive written feedback from the responsible state education office.

It is not possible to give an exact time, since on the one hand opinions must be obtained from other competent authorities and, on the other hand, the examination of the capacity of the desired school, taking into account the class formation, must be observed.

Through this application, parents can express their wish to change or stay.
