Applications for state recognition of your training center should be sent to the State Office for Occupational Safety, Consumer Protection and Health (LAVG) or the State Office for Social Affairs and Care (LASV), depending on the training profession.

Further training is regulated by state law in Germany.

Further training centers in the following healthcare professions or nursing professions are regulated by ordinances in the state of Brandenburg:

• Intensive care and anesthesia
• surgical service
• Oncology nursing
• Hygiene specialist
• Geriatric psychiatry

Training centers that wish to offer state-regulated further training in these areas require state recognition. They are subject to state supervision in order to ensure the ongoing quality of further training.

• Professional certificates and further training certificates of the management and teaching staff (copies)
• Information about the premises in which you would like to set up the training center (e.g. rental agreement or other planning documents)
• Cooperation agreements with institutions where the practical training components will take place
• Information about
  • Teaching and timetables
  • Professional assignment of the lecturers and practical instructors on site
  • Type and implementation of the required performance records
  • Form of communication with the practical instructors on site

Please note: Do you want to offer several further training courses in accordance with the further training regulations of the state of Brandenburg? Then you must submit the documents for each training course separately.

• They have enough qualified management and teaching staff.
• Your rooms are large enough.
• Your rooms are equipped with the appropriate teaching and learning materials.
• You must provide evidence of the following in order to ensure practical professional development:
  • cooperation
    • with a suitable hospital,
    • an outpatient care service or
    • a facility for the elderly or disabled and
  • the qualification of the practical instructors on site

You must observe the provisions of the respective further training regulations.

Note: The LAVG or the LASV must check the recognition requirements separately for each further training course due to the different further training content. The costs are therefore incurred separately for each area of further training.

You can apply for state recognition of your training center for nursing professions in writing using the survey form provided on request:

• Download the survey form online and print it out.
• Fill in the form and add the necessary supporting documents.
• Submit the completed survey form and other documents to the LAVG or LASV (in the original with the signature of the managing director, association chairman and similar)
• The LAVG or LASV will check whether the requirements for state recognition have been met.
• Once the examination has been completed, you will receive a notification by post if you are eligible for recognition, and thus the state recognition.
• If the requirements for recognition are not met, you will receive a rejection notice by post.

The LAVG or the LASV will inspect your facility regularly.

• Recognition as a training center for nursing professions
• Further training in the areas of intensive care and anaesthesia, oncological care, surgical services, hygiene specialists and geriatric psychiatry takes place in state-approved further training institutions in the state of Brandenburg
• Only institutions that are state-approved to provide further training are permitted to do so
• Application required
• Responsible for further training in the areas of intensive care and anaesthesia, oncological care, surgical services and hygiene specialists: State Office for Occupational Safety, Consumer Protection and Health (LAVG)
• Responsible for further training in geriatric psychiatric care and nursing: State Office for Social Affairs and Care (LASV)
