If the requirements are not met, state recognition may be withdrawn or lapse.

If state recognition has been withdrawn or has lapsed, a non-state educational institution may not use the designation "Berufsakademie".
As a result, they cannot hold any examinations in this regard:

• take examinations,
• award degrees (Bachelor Berufsakademie (BA)) and issue certificates.
• issue certificates.

State recognition can expire by law or be withdrawn or revoked by the competent authority.

You may be given a deadline by the competent authority to respond or rectify any deficiencies.

Withdrawal or revocation of state recognition is effected by written notification from the competent authority.

1-6 months

• Revocation of state recognition of a university of cooperative education
• if the requirements for recognition are not (or no longer) met
• if these deficiencies are not remedied within the specified period despite being requested to do so
• if the training operation is not commenced within a certain period of time or does not take place for more than one year or is permanently discontinued without the consent of the competent authority
• if the head office in the state of Brandenburg is given up
