If you would like to organize a family holiday trip with children in family holiday resorts or other facilities and vacation accommodation suitable for the purpose of family recreation, you could receive funding under certain conditions.

Every year, the state of Brandenburg supports families from Brandenburg on their vacation. Funding is provided for family holidays with children in family holiday homes or other facilities and vacation accommodation suitable for the purpose of family recreation. Funding is also provided for family holidays in accommodation facilities or vacation accommodation, as well as family holidays in rented caravans or mobile homes and on campsites.

The offers are intended to enable families to spend time together, to get together as a family, but also with other families.

Support is provided for families on low incomes and in particularly stressful situations, such as single parents, families with a disabled family member or families with a migration background. The subsidy is to be granted for a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 13 overnight stays.

You can submit an application for a grant for a family vacation trip to the LASV in writing before the start of the trip. Grants are voluntary benefits provided by the state. Applicants are not entitled to receive the grant. Rather, the granting authority decides on the basis of its discretionary powers within the framework of the available budget funds.

The following documents are required before departure:

1. Original application form
2. booking confirmation
3. proof of income of all family members (three months prior to the month of application) and
4. Proof of rent and heating costs or home ownership.

If you receive social benefits such as citizen's allowance, social benefit, benefits for education and participation, social assistance, housing benefit or child supplement, the current notification with the calculation sheet is sufficient as proof, points 3 and 4 are not required.

In the case of self-employed persons, income is deemed to be the total positive income within the meaning of Section 2 (1) and (2) of the Income Tax Act in the last calendar year prior to the application. If the income of the last calendar year has not yet been determined when the application is submitted, the income of the calendar year before last is taken as the basis. If the income of the current calendar year is likely to be lower than the income of the last or penultimate calendar year, the credible income of the current calendar year is used as a basis. You must submit an application with all the necessary attachments.

Families who wish to take advantage of a subsidized family holiday must

• have their domicile or permanent residence in the state of Brandenburg and
• be a family within the meaning of the guidelines. Families within the meaning of the guidelines are all forms of private cohabitation with children for which benefits are received in accordance with the Federal Child Benefit Act. This is intended to include married couples with children, single mothers and fathers, non-marital and same-sex partnerships with children as well as patchwork and foster families. Grandparents traveling together with families or alone with their grandchildren can also receive grants.
• Applications should be submitted in full, including a booking confirmation, six weeks before the start of the trip and in any case before the start of the trip. A subsidy is only possible once a year.

Eligible are families who, in the last month before or in the month of application

1. Citizen's allowance, social benefit or benefits for education and participation according to the Second Book of the German Social Code,

1. social assistance according to the Twelfth Book of the Social Code,

1. a child supplement for parents with a low income in accordance with § 6a of the Federal Child Benefit Act or

1. benefits under the Housing Benefit Act

have received or are receiving. The relevant notifications/certificates must be submitted with the application.

In addition, families can receive a subsidy if their monthly income does not exceed 150 percent of the standard benefit of the citizen's allowance and social benefit plus the costs of accommodation and heating.

Allowances are voluntary benefits provided by the state. There is no entitlement to the grant. Rather, the granting authority decides on the basis of its dutiful discretion within the framework of the available budget funds.

There are no costs.

You submit an application for a grant for a family vacation trip with all the necessary attachments before the start of the trip.

After your application has been checked, you will receive a grant notification (unless your application has to be rejected). Please read the notification carefully.

Processing usually takes 2 to 4 weeks, provided the application is correct and complete.

The application must be submitted before the start of the trip.

The application must be submitted to the LASV in good time before the start of the trip. The date of receipt is decisive.

Appeal to the administrative court

• Families on low incomes can receive a grant of 10 euros per day per accompanying family member for a trip together
• between 2 and 13 overnight stays are subsidized
• the state of Brandenburg grants subsidies in accordance with the administrative regulations (VV) for §§ 23 and 44 of the state budget regulations
• the application for a grant for a family vacation trip must be submitted in writing before the start of the trip
