A landlord's confirmation or landlord's certificate is a paper from your landlord stating that you have actually moved into the specified apartment. You will need it if you re-register at the Residents' Registration Office after the move.
According to Section 19 of the Federal Registration Act (BMG), the housing provider is obliged to confirm the move-in to the person subject to the registration obligation in writing or electronically to the registration authority in accordance with paragraph 4. The change of residence must be reported to the relevant authority within two weeks of moving in.
The following data is requested for the landlord's confirmation:
- Name and address of the landlord
- Move-in date
- Address of the apartment to which you are moving in
- Names of persons subject to reporting requirements
- If applicable, name and address of the owner / from the apartment management
The processing office needs this information in order to be able to examine your request. If information is mandatory, it is indicated by an asterisk in the label of the field or the selection options. If you do not enter anything in the voluntary information, you may be asked again later for the missing information. There may be delays in this.
