If you would like to produce a digital game, you can receive funding for the creation of the game under certain conditions.

You can apply for funding for the production of a complete computer game.

- Copy of the extract from the commercial register with list of shareholders or GbR contract or business registration as well as economic documents on the company (current annual financial statements including P+V, current BWA or income/surplus statement or tax assessment)

- Declarations by the applicant on the applicability of sectoral collective agreements or compliance with comparable social standards (e.g. Minimum Wage Act), compliance with sustainability standards and companies in difficulty

- If applicable, application for early start of measures with justification

- Eligible applicants are companies and commercial persons who primarily develop digital games and who have their registered office, branch office or permanent establishment in Berlin or Brandenburg or who can credibly demonstrate at the time of application that they will have their registered office, branch office or permanent establishment in Berlin or Brandenburg at the time of payment of the first installment.

- The prerequisite for payment of the first installment is the actual existence of the registered office, permanent establishment or branch in Berlin or Brandenburg.

- Notwithstanding this, a project can also be funded if the funding is in the particular media cultural or media economic interest of Berlin and Brandenburg.

- A digital game can be funded if it fulfills the minimum criteria of the cultural test in the application documents. At least two criteria of cultural context and cultural content, cultural and creative platform (and at least one criterion of design, creative and technological innovation) should be fulfilled. The funding application must state which criteria in the catalog are met.

- In principle, the funded measure may only be started after the funding decision has been made.

- At least the funding granted by the Medienboard must be used in Berlin-Brandenburg.

- In funded projects, a balanced ratio of women and men among the employees involved should be aimed for, and fair working conditions should be achieved through the application of industry collective agreements or comparable social standards (e.g. Minimum Wage Act). The interests of vocational training and further training must be taken into account to an appropriate extent.

- When implementing the funded projects, sustainability standards should be observed and effective measures to promote environmental sustainability should be implemented in order to achieve a significant reduction in CO2 emissions and other environmentally harmful emissions.

An ILB processing fee of 3% of the loan applied for must be calculated. For loans of € 10,000 up to € 16,667, a minimum fee of € 500 must be calculated.

You can apply for funding digitally via the Medienboard application portal:

- Send a brief concept to the funding officer by e-mail up to approx. 6 weeks before the submission deadline

- An application interview is required before submitting the application. Application interviews take place at least two weeks before the respective submission deadline.

- Access to the online application portal is only activated after the application meeting.

- Applications must be submitted digitally in the application portal by the deadline. The documents required for the application must be listed and uploaded to the portal.

- Incomplete applications that are not completed despite being requested to do so cannot be considered.

- Not applicable, as a private-law funding agreement is concluded
