The Free State of Bavaria supports the Bayerischer Soldatenbund 1874 e.V. through the Bavarian State Chancellery within the framework of institutional funding.
Maintaining the military tradition in Bavaria serves to promote a defensive democracy and support the security policy work of civil society following the suspension of compulsory military service.
In this context, the Bavarian Soldiers' Association with its 65,000 members makes a significant contribution to raising public awareness. It stands up for the state, homeland and fatherland in a united Europe, the preservation of the memory of the fallen, for the honor of German soldiers, the promotion of readiness for military service, solidarity support for the Bundeswehr and the preservation and cultivation of military virtues and traditions. The versatile active work of the Bavarian Soldiers' Association is to be promoted.
