The flood information service issues warnings and water level forecasts based on precipitation and discharge measurements as well as precipitation forecasts, reports them to the affected authorities and emergency services and informs the public and the media. The measurement data is collected by the water management authorities and made available on the HND Internet together with the warnings. The warnings are forwarded to the municipalities via the district offices and independent cities. The municipalities inform the affected citizens and take the necessary protective measures. The population can obtain information about the local situation from the municipality.
