The "Landesstiftung Hilfe für Mutter und Kind" foundation helps pregnant women and mothers with small children who find themselves in an emergency situation.
Purpose of the support
If, in individual cases, public and private assistance to facilitate the continuation of the pregnancy and the situation of mother and child is not sufficient, benefits from the "Landesstiftung Hilfe für Mutter und Kind" (State Foundation for Mother and Child Support) may be considered. This is intended to make it easier for pregnant women who find themselves in an emergency situation and are dependent on the help of others to continue their pregnancy.
Object
Eligible expenses are those incurred on the occasion of the birth of a child and which are likely to make it significantly easier to carry the pregnancy to term (e.g. maternity clothes, initial baby equipment, household and furnishings).
Expenses for a period of up to 36 months after the birth of the child are eligible, in justified exceptional cases up to 48 months.
Beneficiaries
The benefits are granted to girls and women who are pregnant at the time of the request for assistance.
Type and amount
Funding is provided in the form of conditional grants. The extent of the benefit depends on the need and the particular circumstances of the individual case.
- Medical certificate of existing pregnancy, existence of an emergency situation
- Willingness to take advantage of counseling
- Main residence in Bavaria
- Unfavorable financial circumstances
Applications can only be submitted via one of the state-recognized advice centres for pregnancy issues or via the Catholic advice centres voluntarily funded by the State Ministry for Family, Labour and Social Affairs.
The advice center checks the conditions for benefits and, if they are met, sends all the necessary information, evidence and supporting documents via an internet portal of the "Landesstiftung Hilfe für Mutter und Kind" (foundation administration).
The "Landesstiftung Hilfe für Mutter und Kind" (foundation administration) checks whether the conditions for granting a benefit to the pregnant woman are met and then concludes the grant agreement itself.
Payments are made cashless to a bank account specified by the pregnant woman. At the express request of the pregnant woman, payments can also be made to the advice center or other third parties.
The beneficiary must prove to the advice center, which was involved in the conclusion of the contract, that the funds have been used for the intended purpose by means of suitable receipts.
The application for assistance must be made during the pregnancy, i.e. before the birth of the child.
