Volltext

Soil protection is used to secure or restore the functions of the soil.

The soil is an indispensable basis of life for nature and society, their development and sustainable usability. Soil cannot be increased and has only a limited load-bearing capacity. Once damaged, soil is renewed and only recovers very slowly - if at all. Threatening dangers can arise, among other things, from a gradual accumulation of environmentally hazardous substances in the soil.

Soil pollution and contaminated sites not only endanger the soil and health, but also the groundwater. Soil protection law regulates the defense against dangers from harmful soil changes and contaminated sites.

The district offices advise property owners, builders, architects and site managers in the field of soil protection and contaminated sites:
  • for construction work and the long-term remediation of damaging events.
  • Soil surveys, soil remediation and soil monitoring.
  • Statements in the building permit process, development plans, property transactions and the development or use of suspected contaminated sites.
