For foreigners who are still abroad, the German diplomatic mission in the country of origin is responsible (also for the visa application).
The visa office of the central immigration office in Hamburg checks the requirements for issuing visas for planned long-term stays in Hamburg and issues corresponding statements to the German diplomatic missions abroad.
It also provides general information on the visa process.

- Proof of income, apartment, marriage, birth certificates, work, studies, training, health insurance, depending on the reason

Foreign nationals in Hamburg with a valid visa or residence permit should contact the relevant foreign nationals department of the district office.
Foreigners abroad should contact the German diplomatic mission there (also for the visa application).
