As a tradesman, you can apply for a special parking permit for emergency and assembly work. This permit entitles you to free parking in restricted parking zones, in residents' parking zones, or in parking management zones (parking spaces with parking meters or ticket machines).
The special parking permit is only valid for specific company activities. Please refer to the exact contents of your special parking permit.
The minimum validity is 3 months. If you need a special parking permit with a validity of less than 3 months, please contact your local police station.
- an application with details of the purpose of the vehicle use and the work carried out
- a copy of the registration certificate Part I of the vehicle for which the approval is to apply (or the vehicle registration document in the case of old documents)
- an explanation of vehicle use and its importance for operation
- a copy of the business registration or commercial register extract
- If a special parking permit is only valid for certain streets or a pedestrian zone, more detailed location information may be required
- Entry in the vehicle registration document as an assembly or workshop vehicle
- Alternatively, you can submit images that must show: license plate, installation of a fixed workbench (or similar according to application documents), exterior of the vehicle with lettering/branding/company logo
- You run a craft business
- Parking the vehicle on site is absolutely necessary due to your activity or its urgency (e.g. to avoid specific hazards such as a burst water pipe or power outage).
The fees for the special parking permit depend on the period of validity:
If your application is rejected, a fee of 75% will also apply. Subsequent withdrawal of your application is also subject to a fee. In this case, you will be required to pay a fee of 50% of the original fee. This fee is based on the Administrative Costs Act (VwKostG) in conjunction with the Fee Schedule for Measures in Road Traffic (GebOSt).
Submitting an application does not constitute a legal entitlement to the granting of an exemption.

- 18 months - 350.00 EUR
- 24 months - 450.00 EUR
- 30 months - 550.00 EUR
- 36 months - 650.00 EUR

- During use, other persons must not be endangered or hindered.
- Your special parking permit is not transferable to other vehicles. If you change your vehicle, you can have the registered license plate changed for a fee during the period of validity.
