The service with the combination form for home births can be used by parents when registering the birth verbally at the responsible registry office. The form is available online to fill out, print out and take with you.

The analogue service “Easy for children to receive child benefit” can also be used for home births in Hamburg. In this case, it is necessary for you as the parents to report the birth personally to the relevant registry office within a week and to submit the combined form for home births.
The registry office in whose district your child was born is responsible. With this verbal notification of the birth, you can present the “Easy for children to receive child benefit” combined form for home births at the registry office and use the service in this way.
With the combination form you can

• determine the name of your child,
• order additional birth certificates and
• apply for child benefit.

Your child will also be automatically entered in the registration system after the birth certificate. A tax ID is automatically issued by the Federal Central Tax Office.
The advantage is that you do not have to submit the child benefit application to your family benefits office yourself and you no longer have to enclose your child's birth certificate. You only submit the documents once to the responsible registry office and the administration takes care of everything else.

The combination form for home births, a leaflet from the Hamburg registry office and the "Service information" for home births are available online. The combination form can be filled out online and must be printed out and signed for submission to the registry office. You can also get the application documents from your midwife or in all Hamburg registry offices.

Unless otherwise stated, submit the originals of the documents to your registry office.
Documents in a foreign language must be presented to the registry office together with a translation into German made by a publicly sworn or recognized translator.

For married couples:

• Marriage certificate with reference to the birth certificate of the spouses (if there is no reference, the birth certificates of the spouses must also be submitted) or
• "Certified copy from the family book" (if married before 2009)

For unmarried couples:

• mother's birth certificate
• For the entry of the father:

Father's birth certificate and certificate of acknowledgment of paternity.
If the parents have joint custody, also the certificate of custody.
If available, also present the certificate of naming.
Is the mother divorced or widowed:

• Marriage certificate stating the dissolution of the marriage.
• If the information is missing, the divorce decree or the death certificate must also be submitted.

The registry office can request the submission of further documents if this is necessary to prove information.

The service “child's allowance is child's play” with the analog combination form for haugeburten is available to you as a parent if your child is born outside a facility (clinic or birth center) in Hamburg. You do not have to be registered in Hamburg.

You will receive birth certificates for parental allowance and maternity allowance free of charge.
In addition, you can use the combination form to order other fee-based German and / or international birth certificates for your personal use (e.g. for kindergarten, baptism, application for ID / passport, etc.).
The amount of the fees is printed on the information sheet from the Hamburg registry offices.
You pay for these additional birth certificates at the registry office on site. You will then receive the birth certificates by post.

If all the necessary documents for notarizing the birth and for the decision on the application for child benefit are available, the services will be sent by post in less than 10 days on average. Child benefit is paid monthly according to the letter of the surname. You can find out when the monthly payment is made from the family benefits office of the Federal Employment Agency. If the application documents are missing, the registry office or family benefits office will contact the parents.

In the case of home births, you must report the birth personally to the registry office within one week.

You can also use the “Easy for children to receive child benefit” service with the combined form for home births if you give birth to your child in Hamburg but do not live in Hamburg.
You can also use the service if you work in the public sector. If someone other than the Familienkasse Nord of the Federal Labor Office is responsible, the application for child benefit will be sent there.

While filling out the combo form, you will be asked to provide contact information (email address, phone number). This information will only be used by the responsible institutions in the event of queries to contact you.
