If there is no generally valid approval for your construction product, you can apply for approval on a case-by-case basis.
If there is no generally valid type approval for your type of construction, you can apply for a project-specific type approval.

You need approval in individual cases or a project-related type approval (vBG) for a specific building project if it involves innovative or non-standardized construction methods. The notices regulate the use of building products or types of construction that do not comply with the generally accepted rules of technology or for which there is no general building authority proof of usability.

With approval in individual cases or project-related type approval, you have the opportunity to implement individual and innovative solutions in construction without violating building regulations.

Possible applications for which you require approval on a case-by-case basis or project-related type approval include:

• Construction project in which a new insulation material is used that has not yet been approved by the building authorities
• use of a fire curtain
• Use of concrete with 100% recycled aggregate

• detailed technical description
• material and construction specifications as well as execution plans
• static proofs
• where applicable, test reports or expert opinions or
• object-related test report from a testing, monitoring or certification body recognized by the building authorities in the respective area
• if applicable, proof of usability
• if necessary, building permit
• if necessary, proof of stability

• You need approval in individual cases or project-related building permits for a specific, concrete construction project.
• You require approval in individual cases or project-related type approval for a construction product or a type of construction that does not comply with the established technical building regulations or for which no general building supervisory approvals (abZ), general type approvals (aBG) or general building inspection certificates (abP) are available.
• The construction project meets the requirements of the state building regulations, particularly with regard to safety, environmental and health protection.

Fees apply.
The amount of the fees depends on the administrative effort and is between EUR 500.00 and EUR 7,500.00.
