If you need information about the legally responsible foundations based in Hamburg, you can consult the directory/database online.

The Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg keeps a register of the legally responsible foundations that have their headquarters here. The Hamburg foundation directory contains the legally required data on the foundations as well as other voluntary information from the foundations.

Note: This does not apply to private foundations. You can usually get information about these from these foundations themselves.

The following are entered in the register of foundations:

• Surname
• Year of recognition or approval of the foundation
• Form of foundation, possibly the property as a church foundation
• Purpose according to the statute
• address
• if applicable, area of effect
• possibly tasks
• if applicable, e-mail address
• possibly website

The foundation must notify the foundation authority of any change. The entry in the register of foundations does not justify the presumption of their correctness.
Insofar as the legitimate interests of those affected are opposed to this, the address should not be posted on the Internet at their request.
