Anyone who wants to offer support in everyday life for people with care needs must first have this recognized. The application for recognition according to § 45a SGB XI is made according to state law in the federal state in which the offer is made.

Offers for support in everyday life are offers that help to relieve caregivers and support those in need of care to stay in their home environment for as long as possible, to maintain social contacts and to be able to continue to cope with their everyday life as independently as possible. Offers for support in everyday life are:

1. Offers in which, in particular, voluntary helpers take on the care of people in need of care with general or special care needs in groups or at home under nursing supervision (care offers).
2. Offers that serve to provide targeted relief and advisory support for caring relatives and comparable carers (offers to relieve carers).
3. Offers that serve to support those in need of care in coping with general or care-related requirements of everyday life or in the household, in particular with household management or with the independent organization of individually required assistance (offers to relieve everyday life). If you would like to offer support in everyday life, you need recognition under state law.

The corresponding requirements result from the Hamburg Care Commitment Ordinance (HmbPEVO).

Please first read the information on the offers that can be recognized according to the Hamburg PEVO and the PEVO itself (see links) and check whether you (as a legal entity with registered office/business premises in Hamburg) and your offer meet all the requirements. You can then arrange a consultation appointment by sending an email to pevo@soziales.hamburg.de. After the consultation, the necessary application documents will be sent to you.
Once you have submitted all the necessary documents, your application will be checked by the Senior Citizens and Nursing Department and recognition will be granted in the form of a recognition notice limited to 5 years. The recognized offer is published in the vdek care guide and can thus be found by those in need of care. The offer is also recorded in a contract partner list from which the long-term care insurance funds can see whether it is a recognized offer if those in need of care who have used your services apply to their long-term care insurance company for reimbursement with the relief amount in accordance with Section 45b SGB XI . A factual report on the development of the offer must be submitted once a year.
