Your entitlement to housing benefit may be reduced if your situation changes for more than four months during the benefit period as follows:
- Their total income increases by more than 15 percent,
- Your rent or the costs of your home (excluding heating costs) will fall by more than 15 percent,
- The number of household members is decreasing.

- Your total income has increased by more than 15 percent or

- The changes are not temporary. They will last for more than four months.
- The responsible agency will review your housing benefit entitlement ex officio. It will take action on its own initiative. You don't need to do anything.
- You may receive a new notice.
As soon as the responsible authority learns of the change in your situation, your housing benefit application will be re-examined and decided within one year.
As a housing benefit recipient, you must immediately report any changes that could reduce your housing benefit. If your situation doesn't change exactly at the beginning of the month, the recalculation will take effect on the first of the following month.
The recalculation is carried out automatically. To ensure that you are legally receiving housing benefit, the responsible authority may regularly review the data of your household members.
If your rent or housing costs decrease or your income increases, and these changes last for more than four months, you may have to repay any excess housing benefit you have received.
